Everyone needs a certain appreciation for the classics – those songs that inspired the Texas and Nashville tunes we hear today. There was a certain honesty in songwriting back in the day that deserves to be recognized and remembered.
You are probably very familiar with Alabama's music, even if you didn't realize it. In the 1980s, Alabama hit a gold mine with 7 multi-platinum records, and 27 number one hits. Go big or go home, right?
Two of those hits have recently resurfaced in Texas radio as singles, including Love in the First Degree recut by Wade Bowen, and If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band) recut by Turnpike Troubadours. However, I'd like to share another  one of their earlier hits, Lady Down on Love from 1983.
It's a good'n.
