American Aquarium is a ten-year-old band on the rise. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, the guys are carving an ever-growing niche for themselves in Texas, and the rest of the U.S. And much like most bands the guys travel to gigs in a van, save drummer Kevin McClain, who rides his bike.

Yup, this band's drummer does more than merely maintain the beat, he is a long distance cyclist.

Last year McClain rode his bicycle from Nacogdoches, TX, after a show, to Dallas, for a show. Then he rode his bicycle home from Dallas... To North Carolina! The rest of the band rode in the van.

You can keep up with the drummer's journeys at his blog Quads of Fury. Recently he shared a new video, one chronicling his summer on a bike, riding to concerts and festivals.

Here's another video from a tour American Aquarium did in the summer of 2016. Most of it is in Montana, as it was just too beautiful of a state to deny a lot of attention," he writes. "This is a short video I made from a 10 day trip I did after one of American Aquarium's band tours. I started in Houston, Texas and rode all the way back home to Raleigh, North Carolina.

Be sure to check out American Aquarium if they come to your neck of the woods, and now you'll understand if, when you get there, the drummer is short of breath.
