#BandsYouShouldKnow: Kayla Ray

I would like to think it is my job as a writer and music advocate to bring fresh new music and faces to your attention, and with my weekly feature, #BandsYouShouldKnow, that's exactly what I hope to do.

I had the opportunity to see Miss Kayla Ray play acoustic this past week at Luckenbach Texas. She is a firecracker if I ever saw one, which makes the acoustic experience that much more enjoyable. She channels the likes of Waylon, Merle and Tanya to capture a raw, unearthed sound with her own life experiences.

This time last year, she released her debut album "Love and Liquor," which you can pick up here. I believe her current single South Side of Town will give you a good feel for her music and I trust you will enjoy it, too.
