Say what you want (Lord knows Natalie Maines does), but the Dixie Chicks are one of the best bands of-all-time; and may be the best female band ever. Country or not.

This month is the 20th Anniversary of Wide Open Spaces, the fourth studio album and the major label debut of the Dixie Chicks. Did you know it was their first record with new lead vocalist Natalie Maines?

Wide Open Spaces has sold more than 12 million copies, setting the record for the best-selling duo or group album in country music history (in 1998 the Dixie Chicks sold more CDs than all other country music groups combined). The project also earned the Chicks a Grammy, for Best Country Album.
