DVR ALERT: Sturgill Simpson will be Musical Guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this Week

We've been on the Sturgill Simpson train longer than most, and it was only by chance. An old Army buddy of mine told me to check him out just weeks before Metamodern Sounds in Country Music was released and knocked the music world on its ass.

Since then Simpson has landed late night musical guest spots, traveled across the country to perform in front off sold out crowds, become a voice for music lovers, and in December his latest album, A Sailors Guide to Earth, was nominated for a Grammy, in the Album of the Year category.

That's right, he is pitted against Beyoncé, Drake, Justin Bieber, and Adele. His inclusion in the category prompted folks around the world to inquire "Who the f*ck is Sturgill Simpson?"
