Thrillist recently put out of their list of coolest suburbs in our country, and guess what? Four Texas 'burbs can proudly claim their spot among our nation's best.

Uniqueness, ease of commute to nearest city, and the food and drink scene were the criteria that was judged, along with input from local residents, in order to decide which suburbs ultimately ended up on the following list.

Dallas/Forth Worth, TX — McKinney

In 2014 McKinney was named the No. 1 place to live in America by Money Magazine. With and abundance of job opportunities, great school systems and a robust downtown, it isn't hard to see how McKinney Secured its spot on both lists.

Austin, TX – Round Rock

Round Rock is a mere 20 miles outside of Austin, yet offers a much lower cost of living. In addition to its proximity to the cultural epicenter of Texas, Round Rock has a unique culture of its own. These factors create a wonderful community for Round Rock's 105,547 residents to enjoy.

San Antonio, TX — New Braunfels

Founded in 1845 by German settlers, New Braunfels takes pride in its history. There are several German restaurants, along with the town's annual Wurstfest, that give a nod to New Braunfels origins. The rich and unique cultural experience the town provides, along with the Guadalupe and Comal rivers make New Braunfels a great place to visit or call home.

Houston, TX — Pearland

Home of Killen’s Barbecue and located just 20 miles outside of downtown Houston, Pearland is an ideal suburb.
