Jason Boland was one of the guys that introduced me to the Texas, Red Dirt scene. He along with stalwarts named Pat, Charlie, Ragweed, Cory and Robert Earl really made it easy for me, a transplanted Texan, to fall in love with this music. Last week Boland stopped by Radio Texas, LIVE! and left us with an exclusive performance of his next single "Dark and Dirty Mile," and much more.

The Straggglers' current album "Rancho Alto" has been out nearly eighteen months, and it's been quite successful for the guys. They have released four radio singles off of it, all four have reached No. 1 in Texas. The most recent being "Obsessed" which reached the top spot just last week.

Fans will be happy to learn, they won't be waiting too wait long for more new music though.

They've all ready put the time in the studio and their next album is in the can. And from what Boland says Straggler fans are sure to like what they hear. "It's just more of the same," he says. "Songs I write and songs from friends of ours. I actually got to write a little bit of "Dark and Dirty Mile" [the title track] with Stoney LaRue."
