The website Wide Open Country recently named him one of the "15 Legendary Artists Who Shaped Red Dirt Music." But many of his fans affectionately refer to him (loudly, repeatedly and in unison while pumping their fists in the air) as "Pat F--ing Green." This week Pat F--ing Green unleashed the second single from up upcoming album to the world.

The follow up single to Pat Green's No. 1 song "Girls From Texas" is titled "While I Was Away." If it sounds familiar that is because it was written and released by another Texas singer-songwriter, Zane Williams' 2013 album Overnight Success.

Give Pat's version of this tune a listen, but be forewarned...have some tissues ready because it might bring a tear to your eye. Download "While I Was Away" on iTunes.
