RTXclusive: Prophets and Outlaws Release ‘American Woman’ Cover
All this month Radio Texas, LIVE! will be bringing you exclusive video premiers from one of Texas’ favorite original bands. This is the one and only place to catch a first glimpse so make sure to check in here every Tuesday throughout July for your VIP viewing.
Prophets and Outlaws made their mark in the Texas music scene in 2011 when they released their debut self-titled EP featuring the hit “Soul Shop.” Their first single release and signature song garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube, and over 500,000 streams on Spotify.
PAO's original sound has been deemed “Texas soul,” due to the heavy harmonies and the unique mixing of their country music roots with contemporary soul and R&B. The guys have released five critically acclaimed music projects, that have produced three Top 20 singles on the Texas Music Chart.
Their music has also been heard nationally on the Lifetime original movie “Babysitters Black Book,” and twice on the hit television show “Nashville.” The five-piece puts on a live show that is one of the best around so, and have been invited to perform at some the most significant and renown events in the region including the main stage at the Larry Joe Taylor Music Fest, Music Fest in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The first video this month is the band’s live performance of “American Woman” filmed last week at Panther Island in Ft. Worth, Texas in celebration of the 4th of July.
“What could be better? It’s 4th of July weekend and we were out on the water surrounded by friends and our fans and the weather cleared up to be a beautiful day. So, while staring out at our amazing fans and eyeing some American flag bikinis, we decided to bust out ‘American Women.’ It just felt right.” –James Guckenheimer
Prophets & Outlaws is: Matt Boggs (Lead vocals, guitar), Steven Guckenheimer (lead guitar, vocals), James Guckenheimer (drums, vocals), Jamie “Jelly” Ringholm (piano, vocals) and CJ Thompson (bass, vocals).
