It has become a catch-all for many Texas and Oklahoma-based bands, especially nationally (it's less divisive than the term "Texas Music," or "Texas Country"), those in the know know that there is a line.

Earlier this month, the Red Dirt scene lost one of it's most influential members in Tom Skinner. Legends including Cody Canada, Stoney LaRue, Mike McClure and Jason Boland have all expressed the love they for the man.
