The wait is over.

We're proud to present the headliner for the 2016 Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival -- The Turnpike Troubadours!

The Turnpike Troubadours will take the stage following JB and the Moonshine Band, William Clark Green, The Dirty River Boys and Bri Bagwell at this year's festival, which is Saturday, May 14, in Downtown Tyler.

One of the best live bands around, The Turnpike Troubadours have positioned themselves at the forefront of Texas and Red Dirt Music. Their following is passionate and rabid, and they know how to entertain a crowd. More than 5,000 have been on hand twice at shows at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth.

The Turnpike Troubadours have released three albums, their most recent being self-titled and released in Sept. 2015. It climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and reached an incredible 17th on the Billboard 200.

"The Turnpike Troubadours strengthens the band’s reputation for vivid lyrics set to raw, dynamic sound while losing nothing in the process. ... There's not a single bad track on this album," Wide Open Country wrote.

"... But for now, it’s a good idea to catch them live, because there’s nothing like seeing champs take the ring when they're on top of the world," the Dallas Observer says.

The Turnpike Troubadours follow previous festival headliners Josh Abbott Band and Randy Rogers Band.

Tickets for Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival, presented by Tyler Ford, go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday (Feb. 8) at reddirtbbqfest.com.
