His latest album Then Sings My Soul: Songs for My Mother, was never intended to be anymore than an album for only his mom to hear. That changed pretty quickly though, at her urging.

Wade Bowen told us that his mom insisted he release it, and you don't say no to mom. Turns out mom was right. The the gospel project has been a surprising hit for his fans, despite no radio play, and very little promotion.

Last month Bowen stopped by the Radio Texas, LIVE! studio to perform some songs, no gospel ones this time, but some of our favorites, for sure. And he did manage to squeeze in his duet with Randy Rogers, "Till it Does," the No. 1 song in Texas this week.
