It was a memorable Thanksgiving weekend for Granger Smith. On Saturday night, November 28th, Granger not only performed once on the historic Ryman stage, as part of the 90th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry, he also had a chance for an encore show later in the evening.

As Granger explains in the fan-filmed YouTube video above, it was 17 years ago last week that he was in Nashville visiting the Ryman auditorium as a tourist, and five years later he was living in town and playing the stage of Tootsies for tips. Now -- another 12 years later, Granger was able to stand on Opry stage where so many Country Music legends stood before him and make his debut.

Granger sang his his songs: ‘Backroads Song’ and ‘Bury me In Blue Jeans.’

Congratulations Granger!

Sidenote: While Earl Dibbles, Jr. did NOT make an appearance, he was there in spirit. You can hear several "Yee-Yee's" from the audience.
