One of the most daunting things for an artist to do is follow up a monster. Especially when it reaches the level of success, both critically and commercially, as William Clark Green’s “Rose Queen.”

Back in April WCG faced down the monster of his former album and unleashed his latest, "Ringling Road." To celebrate the album release in East Texas, Green will have his album release party at Cowboy's nightclub this Wednesday May 6.

And remember it's just $5 to get in, and those great drink specials: $1.50 well, wine, long necks, and 50-cent drafts. Come hang out, hear great music, and get your hands on a physical copy of “Ringling Road.

Following Green’s debut “Misunderstood,” an album that galvanized Green’s core fan base, “Rose Queen” became a true breakout project for the East Texas native.

With it Green got his first taste of radio success (“It’s About Time” Top 10, “She Likes The Beatles” No. 1, “Rose Queen” No. 4, and “Hanging Around” No. 1), not to mention one of the coolest album covers of 2013.

In addition Green earned high praise from the Dallas Observer, the newspaper that named “She Likes the Beatles” the best song in Texas that year.

The monster that is to be Green’s third studio album “Ringling Road” will be unleashed on April 22. And that album already has a No. 1 single, “Sympathy,” which spent two weeks on top earlier this year.

So by my tally that makes three No. 1 singles, five total top 10s, and of course the best song in Texas for 2013. Not too shabby for the relative newcomer.

See y'all Wednesday at Cowboy's.
