Five Area Codes Texans Should Never Answer, Block Them Now

From El Paso, TX, to Houston, there are five area codes that no Texan should ever answer. That is if I am correct in assuming you do not want spam calls. Yeah, they're the absolute worst.

I've joined the National Do Not Call Registry, but it must've lapsed. I've noticed a violent upswing in spammers calling and they always seem to call at lunchtime. By the way, if you aren't on the DNCR I'll show you how to do that too. Is anybody else receiving more spam calls than normal?

It's hard to believe that spam calling could be a lucrative business, you'd think by now there'd be no one left to scam. But I suppose if you're fishing with a big enough net you're bound to catch one poor soul off guard and boom, all cleaned out.

Scammers are constantly finding new ways to trick people into giving away personal and financial information. One tactic they use is to make calls from area codes that are associated with a specific region or country, in order to make their calls appear more legitimate.

Steps to take if you receive a suspicious call:

1. Do not engage with the caller. They try to try to keep potential victims on the phone to gather more information. Just hang up.
2. Never give out any personal or financial information to the caller.
3. Do an online search, and check if the number has been associated with a scam.
