Shocking, Texas Lyft Driver Attacked Now Lucky To Be Alive
There are so many people in Texas trying to make some extra money right now, but you have to be careful because quickly things can turn dangerous.
It’s impossible to know whether someone is going to unexpectedly cause harm to you but that was the unfortunate reality for one Lyft driver earlier this week in Frisco, Texas.
What Happened with the Violent Lyft Ride in Frisco?
The details were released by WFAA about a Lyft driver who was just working like any normal Monday when the incident occurred around 5:45 pm. The driver accepted a gig that would have him picking up a passenger at the Legends at Legacy apartment complex.
That is when 19-year-old Antwain Williams stabbed the rideshare driver in the neck and stole the driver’s vehicle before driving off.
The Driver Was Able to Give Information to Police Officers
While dealing with a cut to his neck the Lyft driver was able to give important information to law enforcement about the attack before being transported to the hospital.
Officers Saw the Suspect Hours Later
Around 9:00 p.m. police officers spotted Williams in the stolen vehicle, but he was able to escape. Officers quickly set up a perimeter to apprehend Williams.
They spotted their suspect again and after a second pursuit and foot chase the suspect was arrested. He is now being charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest with a vehicle, and evading arrest on foot.
Williams also had an outstanding warrant for sexual performance by a child.
We are glad that the Lyft driver is now in stable condition, and thankful that law enforcement was able to apprehend the suspect.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
