Coach' and Cowboy's

This Friday night (June 19) one of the most buzzed-about underground country singers will be playing Cowboy's night club for the very first time. Frank Foster is a bona-fide, yet relatively "unknown" star.

With Casey Donahew and Josh Abbott here tomorrow, for the first Thursday show in Cowboy's history, I am out tonight for a special Radio Texas, LIVE! at Cowboy's. And I'm happy to be bringing Tyler and the Tribe with me, plus your FINAL chance to win FREE tickets to the JAB / CDB concert.

He's taking the Texas Music scene by storm, and for good reason -- Cody Johnson is really good. Both Kevin Fowler and Aaron Watson have told me on separate occasions he is the next breakout star of our scene. And I can't think of a single reason to doubt 'em. Between shooting Supercuts commercial, music videos and touring there certainly hasn't been much down time for our pal Curtis Grimes. It’s been far too long since Pat Green has played Tyler, Texas. But our long wait comes to an end this Friday (Aug. 16) as the Texas troubadour makes his Cowboy's debut, Tyler's newest and nicest night club. This will be his first show in Tyler since headlining the Tyler Cattle Barons’ Gala in 2011.

It seems weird to point out how "country" a singer/songwriter is, especially in a genre that is regularly referred to as "Texas Country." But Jon Wolfe does stand out as a real "country" artist, surrounded by ones slightly less country, or easily more rock, blues and Americana. Fireworks are coming to East Texas one day early this year courtesy of Jason Cassidy. The South Texan has earned a reputation for putting on high energy, fun shows and this Wednesday (7/3), you can catch it live at Cowboy's in Tyler.
