The Wind and The Wave

Remember the most popular punk rock love song from 2006? I certainly do. Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars was every teenagers anthem. Well, nearly 10 years later, The Wind and The Wave have revived the tune in a powerful cover that was featured on ABC's Grey's Anatomy:

Christmas is just around the corner, and I will tell you something... music is a timeless gift. I constantly have people approaching me asking for new music suggestions. It just so happens to be that time of year when you have every excuse to purchase any album under the sun.

The Wind and The Wave released their debut album "From The Wreckage" this week, and it is nothing short of awesome. You may have heard their first single off the record, With Your Two Hands, which was a pretty good indicator of what was to come:

Green River Ordinance is hosting the first annual "Rock The River Fest," a two day music festival and tubing trip in New Braunfels. Join GRO with some of their favorite artists and float the Guadalupe River during the day, and rock out that night at River Road Ice House!

This is by far the coolest lyric video I've ever seen. Creepy McCreepster, with a touch of humor. I love it. Props to the editor. What do y'all think?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... "Texas Music" is a very loose term around these parts. It's got a little bit of this, and a little bit of that all thrown into a massive melting pot of folk, rock, country, rockabilly, and Americana tunes. The good news is, most come out on the other side of that melting pot with a unique groove.

I would like to think it is my job as a writer and music advocate to bring fresh new music and faces to your attention — I use the term “underground music” loosely, in the sense that these artists deserve much more attention than they are receiving...
