You may have seen the videos floating around social media of the #ALSIceBucketChallenge, which involves dumping a bucket of ice water over your head and challenging three other people to do the same within 24 hours.

It may seem ridiculous, but ALS, aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease, has caught the attention of millions via social media due to this "Ice Bucket Challenge." Folks who had never heard of ALS are now actively helping find a cure.

Josh Abbott was called out by several folks and participated in the challenge this past weekend with his band at Toobapalooza in New Braunfels, Texas. Thousands watched as he called out Wade Bowen, William Clark Green, Johnny Manziel and of course, The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Through this awareness, the ALS Association reports that it has received $4 million in donations in just two weeks:

“We have never seen anything like this in the history of the disease...we couldn’t be more thrilled with the level of compassion, generosity and sense of humor that people are exhibiting as they take part in this impactful viral initiative," said Barbara Newhouse, president and CEO of The ALS Association

Don’t want to accept the challenge? No worries. You can also make a donation to the ALS Association.
