
A Texas Gymnastic Instructor Now Arrested for Sexual Assault
Sexual assault of a minor is something that no one wants to talk about, but it’s taken very seriously in Texas. One gymnastics instructor in Longview was recently accused of that horrible crime according to KETK.
52-Year-Old Matthew Orban Was Arrested
Matthew Orban was charged with sexual assault of a minor for an incident that took place around March 1st, 2016.
According to the court details, Orban, “intentionally and knowingly caused the penetration of the sexual organ”. This is believed to have happened with a child younger than 17 years old.
Orban Has Been Released from Custody
On Sunday, December 12th, 2024, Orban turned himself into the Gregg County Jail and was released on the same day. His bond was set at $75,000.
Orban Co-Founded ‘Faith Flip’ in the Longview Mall
Matthew and Nicole Orban co-founded Faith Flip the nonprofit located inside the Longview Mall where they provide tumbling and other gymnastics training while also teaching lessons from the Bible.
Faith Flip doesn’t charge gymnasts who cannot afford to pay for the coaching, and Matthew has 19 years of experience.
Orban will be back in court on April 9th at 9:00 a.m. for a status hearing. Just like all people arrested, Orban is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
