Aaron Watson Like You’ve Never Heard, Absolutely Owning an ’80s Pop Smash
Whether in concert in Houston, TX, or anywhere across the globe, Aaron Watson always bring the country. But the man known as The Honky Tonk Kid has proven time and time again that he's not afraid to navigate new and unchartered waters.
This week let's take a look back at that time Watson and his drummer dabbled in an amazing Tears for Fears cover.
Some of you may know, my drummer Nate Coon has been doing these Green Room Sessions for a while and I finally got to sing on one! Hope y'all enjoy! Any suggestions for one you may want to hear?
Four years ago, Watson joined his drummer Nate Coon and Jason Lerma for an episode Coon's semi-regular, "The Green Room Sessions." The trio tag-team the '80s classic "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" from Tears for Fears.
It's pretty rad. We're just trying to understand why they didn't give us the whole song. We'd really like to hear the whole song, guys.
"Time for another Green Room Session! This time we've got Jason Lerma NAILING this Tears For Fears song," Nate wrote on his Facebook page. "Aaron Watson even joined in on vocals! As always, ZERO samples were used. This was filmed in 3 different green rooms in Texas and California. Thanks for watching!"
