Cody Johnson is still at it. Last weekend he played two sold-out nights at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Do you remember when America first fell head-over-heels in love with him thanks to his viral-inducing performance at the CMT Music Awards three years ago?

But today let's take a look and listen to a classic country cover from the Texas native. 2022 was a goldmine for stone-cold country covers from CoJo. That February he uploaded an amazing version of the Gary Stewart classic "She's Acting single (I'm Drinking Double)," and set the internet ablaze.

In March of the same year he uploaded an updated version of the Bruce Robson penned "Travelin' Soldier." But today we're sharing his version of the Vince Gill smash "When I Call Your Name."

The video was uploaded by our new favorite YouTuber Taylor Hendrix. It's from The Rockin' CJB's set at the Grand Ole Opry.

The song was co-written by Vince Gill and Tim DuBois. Interestingly enough did not make it to No. 1. Nope, this heartbreak masterpiece surprisingly peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1990.

2022 was also the same year Johnson became just the third act in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo history to sell out on opening night. The first two: were George Strait and Garth Brooks.
