The Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs Could Be Looking For A New Home Soon And One Texas City Has Said They Would Welcome Them With Open Arms.

The Chiefs were originally formed as the Dallas Texans, debuting in 1960, the same year as the Cowboys. The Texans played in the American Football League, and the Cowboys played in the National Football League.

The competing franchises shared the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, but the Texans, owned by Lamar Hunt, ultimately decided to move to Kansas City. So the Texans became the Chiefs and the rest as you know is history.

But a "reunion" of sorts could be in the making as the owners of the Chiefs have made it clear that the team wants a new stadium but voters there aren't giving them what they want which means talk of them relocating are starting to heat up.

Jackson County Missouri voters rejected a sales tax to pay to renovate Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs and build a new stadium for the Royals.

The proposed measure failed 78,352 to 56,606 and officials for the Chiefs, who are owned by the prominent Hunt family of Dallas, have suggested the team could explore moving from the Kansas City area, if the deal fell through. It's not clear if that's the case, or if another stadium renovation deal could be proposed.

For now, the future of the Chiefs in Kansas City looks dim despite winning 3 Super Bowls in the last 5 seasons.

Meanwhile, the Mayor Of Dallas is getting involved.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson has been vocal about bringing a second NFL team into the DFW Metroplex and he hopped on X to tweet "Welcome home Dallas Texans!" with a link to an article about the Chiefs stadium proposal being voted down.

Two years ago, Johnson said he had talked with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about a second NFL team coming to North Texas but Jones didn't lend his support to the idea.

Johnson's focus in recent years has been on Dallas teams actually playing in the city of Dallas and not the suburbs  and he even created a city council committee that would be focused on attracting and retaining professional sports franchises in the city.

There's been no reported interest in a Chiefs move to Dallas so all of this is just speculation but considering that the Hunt Family still calls Dallas home, it wouldn't be a stretch to see the connection but can Cowboys Nation deal with another team in its territory?
