Flatland Cavalry Inspired to Share ‘The Mountain Song’ While in Idaho
This week lead singer of Flatland Cavalry, Cleto Cordero, hit up the band's socials with an acoustic performance of a brand new song. The group was in Idaho and thought the setting would be the perfect time to share “The Mountain Song."
We have been fortunate enough to get to see the most beautiful sights in Utah, Idaho, and Montana while on tour. Cleto saw that Mackay, ID would be the perfect time to share “The Mountain Song” with y’all.
Flatland Cavalry's debut album Humble Folks sent ripples throughout the Texas / Red Dirt scene upon its release in '16. The guys released the followup, Homeland Insecurity, in January.
Front man and chief songwriter, Cleto (pronounced like meadow) moved to Lubbock from Midland to follow in the footsteps of other Texas greats including Pat Green, Josh Abbott and William Clark Green. So far so good for one of Texas Music's most humble folks. Their current single "Old School" is making its way up the Texas charts.
