15 Things To Do Around East Texas This Weekend – March 28
(East Texas) This time of the year, tourists and visitors are flocking to two of the most beautiful areas in the Lone Star State to marvel at the beauty of the blooms as nature comes out of its winter dormancy.
Thousands of visitors are descending upon Tyler's Azalea District to drive through neighborhoods that are covered in azaleas. They'll park their cars and walk the brick streets to get an upclose look at the color and all the other spring blooms that adorn backyards and flowerbeds in this historic part of the Rose City.

Forty-five minutes away, visitors are doing the same thing in the Palestine area, only they are marveling at the bright blooms on the dogwood trees. These trees are displaying their white blooms before the light green leaves take over to form the canopy of the tree.
Springtime in East Texas offers up so much more. Families can pack up and have a picnic at Tyler State Park or at any of the lakes in the Piney Woods. Families can find entertainment, festive live music, and treats of all kinds at arts and crafts fairs, bazaars, and events, or just go for a relaxing drive and find an awesome restaurant for lunch in a small town.
