Like many traditional retailers who have struggled since the pandemic and plunging sales, Big Lots announced in June that it was facing several areas of financial strain that would result in hundreds of stores closing across the country.

But an updated filing with the SEC on Sept. 11 revealed that they would have to close way more stores than they originally thought. Big Lots listed 1,389 stores nationwide on its website, and they plan to close 344 locations across 44 states.
