One of the first things I learned from my parents was to show respect, which is a common practice in Texas.  Although not everyone learns that lesson, and that was on display recently, as there was a Texas teacher who was slapped by a student just outside of their classroom.

You hear about disruptive students. I will admit that I was a difficult student, always getting in trouble for talking too much.  But never would I even think about violence toward a teacher; I knew there would be harsh punishment from my parents. It would never even cross my mind.

Video of the Texas Teacher Getting Slapped

This attack took place at Summer Creek Middle School within the Crowley ISD. Before you watch the video posted by WFAA, let me warn you that it might make you mad.

We Don’t Know Everything About This Video

While I will admit that we don’t know what was said leading up to the actual slap by the student. There is no reason for violence within schools, not toward teachers or administration, and not toward students either.

It’s a place to get an education, so you can better your life. Everything else is a distraction and a waste of time. Most comments online blame the student or the student's parents for the entire encounter. Although a few people online are asking what the teacher did to cause this. One thing we can all agree on, violence within Texas schools needs to stop immediately.
