We've got a love/hate relationship with Walmart in Texas. I like to go to Walmart, it's a nice one-stop-shop for just about anything.

Others in Texas, though, think of Walmart as a thorn in their side. They don't like the crowds, the self-checkout lanes, or all the products that are made in China.

Why So Many Texans Hate Walmart's New Shopping Carts

Walmart is rolling out some buggies, shopping carts, or whatever it is that you call them, to stores. These new carriers-of-retail are much taller than the previous generation. They stand at 43.3 inches tall compared to the old height of 39.75 inches.

They also come with a new holder for your phone to keep track of your shopping list and a cup holder for your Stanley Cup.

Some shoppers are not as happy, however. I stand at 6 feet 1 inch. My fiancé stands about 5 feet 9 inches. For either of us, these new buggies will not be an issue. For those not blessed by the growth gods, the height of the shopping carts may be an issue. Especially if they have their child with them.

It's certainly a first-world problem, but some are really not happy about the height of these new buggies.

Buggies. Carts. Baskets. What Do You Call Them?

This brings up another conversation, what do you call the shopping helpers? A cart? A buggy? A basket? I switch between cart and buggy. I have heard them referred to as a basket. To me, that sounds weird. A cart or buggy is more acceptable in my personal opinion.

Whatever you call them, what do you think of Walmart's new shopping carts? Let the first-world problem arguing begin.
