It was sad news we reported one year ago today as we said goodbye to one of Country Music’s most iconic stars, and prolific songwriters. On April 6th, 2016, his 79th birthday, Merl Haggard passed away.

To honor the memory of “The Poet of the Common Man," today we share our "Top 5 Merle Haggard Songs," as determined by the RTX Crew. We do it with the caveat that you, the reader, know this is a very fluid, and very subjective list.
