Popular Dallas Singer Brutally Shot Onstage After Her Performance
A Shocking And Terrifying Emergency Took Place Last Week As A Performer Was Shot On Stage In Dallas.
A scary incident has sparked concern across the Dallas music and performing arts community, prompting heightened security measures at future events at one venue and a singer hospitalized after a violent attack.
Singer Jada Thomas had finished performing at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters In Dallas.
Thomas has been performing at the academy since she was just ten years old. On the evening of Nov. 2nd, she had finished performing and was signing autographs onstage when she was shot.
She was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition while the suspect left the scene and was later detained by police.
26-year-old Micah Williams Was Later Identified As The Suspect.
Witnesses told police that they interacted with Williams ahead of the shooting and described her as "really robotic and off,". She was arrested in a hotel lobby after a witness flagged down police en route to the shooting. The suspect tried to sit on her purse when police detained her and noticed a handgun inside the bag according to police.
In an interview, Williams admitted to shooting Thomas and claimed she was harassing her all of 2023. Williams is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and she is being held in Dallas County Jail.
