See Kacey Musgraves When She Played at Stanley’s in Tyler in 2006

Sunday night at the Grammy Awards was undoubtedly the biggest night thus far in the young career of Kacey Musgraves.

Less than two weeks after it was announced she was going on tour with Katy Perry, and after a successful 2013, the Mineola native took home two Grammy's -- one for Country Song of the Year for "Merry Go Round," and the big one for Country Album of the Year.

But it wasn't too long ago that one of country music's brightest up-and-coming stars was playing for small crowds right here in Tyler. Nick and Jen Pencis, who own Stanley's Famous Pit Bar-B-Q in Tyler, posted pictures on Facebook this morning of 18-year-old Kacey playing a concert on the Stanley's patio in 2006.

Both Kacey and Stanley's have transformed so much since 2006 -- Kacey has toured with Lady Antebellum, made a No. 1 record and now has two Grammy Awards. These pictures were back when Stanley's didn't have its all-new patio and bar, which has now been up for just over a year.

It's great to see where artists kick off their careers, and we're proud to see Kacey spent her time working her way up in Tyler. Maybe it can happen again soon!
