Texas Teen Charged With Violent Murder Free, Posted $200 Bond

In Texas, if you commit a crime you should always have to answer to the consequences. But there's one teenager in Texas who has been charged with murder but was allowed to walk out of jail after his bond was reduced from $800,000 to just $200.

When you’re discussing a person being locked up for a crime they committed, most people want to know the details of the crime.

According to Fox News, 19-year-old Stephon Martin Morson is accused of shooting 20-year-old Keshawn Cage in the back of the head last October.

Texas Teen Charged With Violent Murder Free

Morson was booked on murder charges on November 6, 2024, and he also added a charge of tampering/fabricating physical evidence.

Those charges made his bond $800,000 but just this past Saturday he was released from jail after posting a bond.

His bond conditions dropped to just $100 per charge, so a total of $200. The other conditions pending his release included being on a GPS monitor, remaining under house arrest, and not having any contact with the victim's family or potential witnesses.

People Are Outraged This Suspect Was Released from Custody

The Austin Police Association President, Michael Bullock said the punishment is, “not enough.”
