Tailgates Bring in Big Money
Thieves can steal a tailgate and sell it for as much as $10,000. Which is why law enforcement is suggesting that pickup owners look into tailgate locks. These devices are known to slow down thieves and potentially deter theft.
Other suggestions include always locking your vehicle and tailgate, using OBD port covers or locks, and installing a steering wheel lock or aftermarket alarm system. Lastly, you might want to store your key fob in a Faraday bag at home to make sure your signal cannot be cloned by thieves trying to make you their next victim.
