Recently the guys stopped by Radio Texas, LIVE! and here's what transpired.

If you listened to country radio at all in 2012, you are undoubtedly familiar with at least one of lead singer Jaren Johnston's songs. He co-wrote Keith Urban's monster smash "You Gonna Fly." Of the song he says, "I wrote it with a band called the LoCash Cowboys. Keith ended up loving it, cut it and made it a single and it [became] my first No. 1. That's bucket list stuff."
How do you top Keith Urban taking your song to the top of the charts? Simple. Get your whole band featured on a hit television show.
It turns out T-Bone Burnett and his Academy Award-winning screenwriter wife, Callie Khouri, who wrote and produce "Nashville" for ABC, were looking for a "southern, rock, dirty situation" for a scene in the show. As it turned out more than a few folks suggested The Cadillac Black -- and the power-couple liked what they heard.
Johnston told us the shoot wound up being a bit longer than they anticipated, "We thought we'd shoot a couple scenes, get in and out. It turned out to be 16 hour day." That's a long day. "But luckily," he says, "it was downtown by the honky tonks, so we'd skip down to the next door and grab a couple beers between scenes."
While in-studio with us, The Cadillac Black gave us a live, exclusive performance of "I'm Southern." Check it out,
There brand new single "Get Your Buzz On" is out to radio now. In fact it made my Top 10 Totally Awesome list of 2012. Hear it here.
Even though Christmas has past, for your RTXtra check out their song "Happy Christmas." I think you'll find it's a bit different than most Christmas songs. Enjoy, and don't forget your New Year's Resolution to listen to more of The Cadillac Black.
