Y'all can keep your "Jingle Bells," and "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeers" cause down here in Texas we've got badass original tunes for Christmas.

From tried and true Texas / Red Dirt artists, to a couple adopted acts; here are our Top 6 original Christmas songs for Texas Music lovers this Year.

6. Granger Smith "This Kind of Christmas"

2016 was a breakout year for Granger Smith. He landed his first No. 1 on Billboard, and has been touring extensivley with some of the biggest acts in Country Music. But who can forget his sweet Christmas song from 2008.

5. The Cadillac 3 "Happy Christmas"

Back when the Cadillac 3 was still the Cadillac Black the guys from Nashville unleashed this funky Christmas ode upon Texas and the world. Yes, yes, we know TC3 is not from Texas, but this song is too funkin' good not to include in our Christmas list.

4. Casey Donahew + Cody Johnson "When Santa Rides Through Texas"

When two of Texas biggest acts team up on a Christmas song, you can bet radio stations and fans, alike, are going to pick up on it. Casey recently told us that the two friends just wanted to write a Christmas song for Texas, one that would hopefully get played every year.

And for the record, Casey, in Alaska, reindeer season is from mid-August through mid-November.

3. Kevin Fowler + Ray Benston "Santa Got Busted By the Border Patrol"

In true irreverent Fowler-fashion, Kevin Fowler and Ray Benson team up to tell this widely-unknown tale of Santa Claus - that time he inadvertently got a second-hand contact high, and ended up in the slammer.

2. Corb Lund "Just Me and These Ponies (For Christmas This Year)"

This is the new saddest Christmas song. Corb Lund told us he wrote it after his label all but demanded a holiday song from him. Be careful what you ask for.

1. Robert Earl Keen "Merry Christmas from the Family"

Best. Christmas. Song. Ever.
