A star-studded roster of artists — most of whom hailing from Texas — will join Robert Earl Keen's benefit show for relief efforts after the deadly flash flooding in the state.

Miranda Lambert, who is also participating in Pat Green's Texas flooding benefit, will join the lineup, alongside Jon Randall and Jack Ingram. That's the same trio behind The Marfa Tapes, a 2021 collection of acoustic songs they recorded in Marfa, Texas.

Tyler Childers is also joining the bill, as are Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jamey Johnson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Aaron Watson, Kelsey Waldon, Cody Jinks, Hayes Carll and many others.

Billed as Buc-ee's Presents REK & Friends: Applause for the Cause, the event will be held on Aug. 28 at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas. Tickets go on sale Friday, and proceeds will support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

Keen first announced to fans that he had a benefit show in the works on July 7, just days after the flooding ravaged Texas Hill Country on July 4.

In a video message to his fans, Keen explained that not only was his hometown — Kerrville, Texas — especially hard-hit by the "unprecedented" tragedy, but he has a special connection to Camp Mystic, a girls' summer camp where several children were confirmed dead or went missing after the flooding.

"There are still many missing from the event, including campers from Camp Mystic," Keen said at the time, "which holds a special place in mine and my family's hearts as both of my daughters attended summer camp there."

"My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected, and special thanks for the amazing support of the first responders from the community and all over Texas rushing to aid those in need," the singer went on to say.

"I will be working on a benefit to support the community, and more details to follow as soon as we know them," he says.

In the meantime, he directed fans to make donations to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, and said that he's planning to donate "100 percent of the merchandise sales from our current tour" to that foundation as well.

What Happened During the July 4 Flooding in Texas Hill Country?

Early in the morning on July 4, torrential rain over central Texas caused the Guadalupe River to rise dramatically and surge, with levels rising as much as 30 feet, according to NPR.

Catastrophic flooding quickly began to hit the region. The flash flooding had a devastating impact on communities in the area, ravaging homes and sweeping people away.

According to CNN, 132 are confirmed dead in the floods as of Tuesday (July 15), and more than 170 people remain missing.

Which Other Country Stars Have Been Involved in Helping Out With Flood Relief?

Pat Green announced a livestream benefit show to take place on Wednesday (July 16), which will also feature Lambert as a performer, as well as Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi.

Green's connection to the flooding is especially personal. His younger brother John Burgess, his wife Julie Anderson Burgess and their two young children are four of the people who are confirmed to have died in the floods.

The singer announced that his family was mourning "a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss" in the first days after the flood hit, and more details soon emerged. John and Julie were confirmed dead as of July 8, and tragically, a press release from this week confirms that the two missing Burgess children have also died.

In addition to participated in multiple benefit shows, Lambert quickly jumped in in the first days after the flooding to help displaced animals and pets via her MuttNation Foundation. Lambert said at the time she was working "more things to come."

George Strait has announced a benefit show of his own, while Chris Stapleton donated a staggering $1 million toward flood relief via his Outlaw State of Kind Foundation.
