I would like to think it is my job as a writer and music advocate to bring fresh new music and faces to your attention, and with my weekly feature, #BandsYouShouldKnow, that’s exactly what I hope to do.

Zac Wilkerson and The Wayward Souls are one of the best hidden gems to come out of West Texas in some time. If you love the likes of Uncle Lucius or Prophets & Outlaws, you will be thoroughly impressed with these guys.

I had the opportunity to see Wilkerson live acoustic at #PickinForPreemies and was blown away not only by the quality vocals, but also the quality music - especially for an artist that has not been at it all that long:

"Based out of Amarillo, Texas, the Vocalist/Songwriter stumbled into a career in music after winning The Blue Light Live Singer Songwriter contest in 2011, earning himself a set at Larry Joe Taylor's Texas Music Festival in Stephenville, TX."
