We've come to expect certain things when you listen to a new Jason Boland and the Stragglers CD over the past 15-plus years. Expect new music to stay true to the dancehall country music that made them Texas/Red Dirt music icons. Expect great lyrics, and fantastic musical arrangements that are incredibly easy to listen to. And, of course, you can expect to enjoy one of the best vocalists in country

Brandon Jenkins may be best known for his edgy, occasionally expletive-laden songs, but if that's all you know about the Red Dirt legend, you're missing out on a lot of what makes Jenkins an all-time great singer/songwriter. From his latest CD, 'Through the Fire', Brandon shows off a deep, emotional side with his single, 'Tattoo Tears'.

After reaching a new level of success with his hit single 'Sent Me You', Mongomery, Texas native Josh Ward is faced with the tall order of following up a chart-topping record. He'll take a crack at it with a very different song from the sweet, honest ballad: a rocking honky tonk country tune called 'Promises'.

I think this video is fun, silly, hysterical and just a good old-fashioned old-school perverted video that not only objectifies women and perpetuates the stereotype of all “video vixens” shaking their boo-tay's for the lead singer, but makes me want to go and get drunk and forget all about how you can play chinese checkers on my own boo-tay. AND I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT.

Since I first listened to the Austin-based band's debut CD, "Different Kind of Light" in 2008, I was hooked.
