Cody Johnson Honors Grandfather with Cover of Billy Joe Shaver’s ‘Live Forever’
While on the road in California a few weeks ago Cody Johnson got the news that his grandfather had passed away. Back home in Texas in November, Johnson paid homage to the man that helped curate his love of country music.
During his Cody Johnson & Friends concert in Dallas back in November, Cody told the story of a special guitar that his grandfather left him. As Johnson shares in the video, the first song he played on it was the Billy Joe Shaver classic "Live Forever," which he sang to his grandmother.
Shout out to YouTuber Leslie Marie Johnson for sharing this.
