It has been a wild couple of weeks in the Texas /  Red Dirt world. After a decade and a half full of "nos" and "never-gonna-happens," it appears that some sort of potential Cross Canadian Ragweed something-or-other is underway, click here to get caught up.

Folks online are speculating about a reunion, perhaps a reunion album, or a re-record. But so far the Ragweed camp has stayed silent, aside from a few Facebook updates, including one mentioning Koe. What's Koe Wetzel got to do with it?

Maybe absolutely nothing, but maybe it was his song that set into motion the chain of events that led us to September '24. We all miss Ragweed like Koe and that girl do. It's likely, that the Ragweed team is just capitalizing on Koe's massive hit about them. But could it be more?

In early 2020, our pal Kasey James at The PlayList sat down for a conversation with Red Dirt legend, Cody Canada. The two covered a lot of ground including Canada's stance on one of Texas' brightest burning stars.

Koe Wetzel's rise, his band's swagger, and their undeniable popularity have drawn comparisons to Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Cody certainly sees it. "The not giving a sh*t, but giving a sh*t," Cody says his band did it, and Koe is doing it. "You guys act like you don't care, but you really do... I endorse everything he does. I'm proud of him."

"Everybody had really finally stopped asking me about when the band was going to get back together, then he put out that f*cking song," Canada says laughing. "No, I like the song. It's an honor."

Dangerous, Exotic Animals You Can Now Legally Own in Texas

Texas has an estimated 7.2 million dogs, more than any other state. But perhaps you’re interested in branching out a bit and adding a less common exotic pet to your home.

Granted a few of these exotics are regulated and will require permits.
