(Arlington, Texas) As a fan of Six Flags Over Texas and a former employee of ten years, I am super excited about the news of the new roller coaster that will debut in 2026. The Arlington, Texas, skyline will be dramatically transformed thanks to Six Flags Over Texas and the newly announced multi-record-breaking giga dive coaster, called 'Tormenta Rampaging Run'.

What Makes Tormenta Rampaging Run Historic

As Six Flags Over Texas prepares for the park's 65th anniversary celebration next year, it will debut a new coaster in the park's already impressive line-up. New for 2026 will be Tormenta Rampaging Run -- a record-breaking, adrenaline-pumping roller coaster that will redefine the thrill-seeker experience. This new giga dive coaster will be the tallest, fastest, longest, and first-ever giga (300+ foot tall) dive coaster in the world. This one-of-a-kind thrill ride will trample six monumental world records.

Six Record-Breaking Thrills in One Ride

  • Tallest Dive Coaster: Soaring to an epic height of 309 feet, Tormenta Rampaging Run will give riders a heart-stopping view of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area before plunging them into a high-speed descent.
  • Fastest Dive Coaster: Reaching a thrilling speed of 87 mph, Tormenta Rampaging Run will be the fastest dive coaster on the planet, ensuring an experience that delivers pure excitement from the first moment to the last.
  • Longest Dive Coaster: Spanning 4,199 feet, this ride will offer an extended journey full of airtime (weightless) moments, sharp turns, and exhilarating drops that will make riders feel like they are bull runners.
  • Tallest Vertical Coaster Loop: At 179 feet, the loop on this coaster will be the highest of any coaster, of any type, in the world.
  • Highest Immelmann Inversion: Being upside down at 218 feet will become a must for thrill-seekers and roller coaster enthusiasts from around the world.
  • Highest 95-Degree Beyond Vertical Drop: Without warning, the train will release, dropping riders a record 285 feet down at a beyond-vertical 95 degrees.

The Biggest News Since 2001

This is the biggest news to come out of the original Six Flags theme park in more than two decades, when Titan was introduced in 2001. Park guests and enthusiasts have been waiting for something like this for years, and they are finally going to get it.

New Dining at Six Flags: Cocina Abuela

Six Flags Over Texas also announced the opening of a new restaurant, Cocina Abuela. This restaurant will be obvious when walking into Spain, and the aromas will fill the air in the central plaza of Spain. It is expected to showcase Spanish flavors and cuisine, and will feature in-house, freshly made tortillas.

Where the Coaster Is Being Built

Construction has been underway for a few months now on the site that was formerly occupied by La Vibora (Bobsled) and is expected to take more than a year to complete. While construction is underway on Tormenta Rampaging Run, the park is also recommitting itself to beautifying the green space with plants and flowers throughout the entire park, and current ride and building theming with many buildings receiving updates.

2026 is going to be an important and impressive year for Six Flags Over Texas, and I, for one, can't wait to see it all transform. I can't wait for media day to board Tormenta Rampaging Run and get to show you the video of me riding this world-breaking dive coaster.

'Fright Fest' At Six Flags Over Texas Lived Up To The Hype

When the sun goes down at Six Flags Over Texas during the spookiest time of the year, the zombies and ghouls rise and appear to take over sections of the park while putting fear into some park guests.

15 Defunct Six Flags Over Texas Rides That Have Been Removed But Not Forgotten

These rides once stood proud and brought joy and terror, in some cases, to those who rode them at Six Flags Over Texas. These rides no longer exist at Six Flags Over Texas. Yes, The New Texas Giant is there, but The Texas Giant went through a complete remodel and redesign and received an upgraded steel track and has a new configuration, and is no longer like the OG, The Texas Giant.
