This evening (Aug. 29) Stoney LaRue posted to his fans for the first time since he was arrested in July, on charges of domestic abuse.

On July 21st this year, Oklahoma City Police allege that LaRue came home at 4 a.m. after being out drinking. His girlfriend, Amanda Winsworth, decided to sleep in her car to avoid the noise. She was getting ready for work a few hours later and her hairdryer woke Stoney up, which started an argument.

According to the arrest affidavit, LaRue, 38, threw Winsworth’s makeup, curling iron and other items down the stairs. When she turned around to pick up some of her things, LaRue allegedly pushed her down the stairs.

Today Stoney spoke to his fans for the first time since this apology he posted shortly after news broke:

I want to apologize to my family, my friends and my fans for the recent circumstances that have come to light. I am going to take some time to work on myself. I will be entering an intensive and extensive program, and I appreciate your thoughts and good wishes for me during this trying time. Please check my website and Facebook page for updates on my upcoming tour dates, but most importantly, I appreciate your support during this time.

Here's what he posted today:

Hello friends and fans:I am ready to get back to what I love to do, performing for all my loyal and supportive fans. ...
