Some singers don’t have to wait long at all to get on TV. In fact, these days it seems many even begin their careers under the national television lights. Others have to wait five decades. The latter is the case for country / outlaw singer / songwriter Billy Joe Shaver. But Shaver’s wait ended last night.

He’s been writing and performing songs for fifteen years, and even though Will Hoge is a name you might not yet know — you are definitely familiar with his work. Hoge penned Eli Young Band’s No.1 smash “Even if it Breaks Your Heart,” a song that earned him a Grammy nomination. He's also the guy singin' on the Chevy truck commercials.
