He set records in 2015, and Aaron Watson is set to kick off 2016 with high-profile performances across Europe -- including the first event co-sponsored by Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth.

Watson started 2015 with a big ol' Texas bang, becoming the only solo male country artist to self-release and independently distribute a No. 1 album on the Billboard Country Albums chart with "The Underdog."

But this won't be his first time overseas, Watson has toured Europe five times over the past six years, where he has built a loyal and passionate fan base. In 2016 he'll headline two major music festivals in France and Italy, where he takes the top spot at the Padova Fiere on Jan. 30.

"The Underdog" will be honored with a Gold record to be presented in London for his recording of Merle Haggard's "Working Man Blues," with Universal Belgium recording artist Robby Longo.
