On Tuesday, October 4th, the public memorial service was held for golfing legend, Arnold Palmer. And Country Music Hall of Famer, Vince Gill, who was a longtime friend of Arnold’s, performed two songs at the ceremony.

In memory of his golfing buddy, Gill sang “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” and Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”

“I just want to thank the family for the gift of the invitation to come here and honor an old friend,” said Vince before singing “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” “It means more to me than you’ll ever know. This man was my favorite person—not my favorite golfer—but my favorite person that I’ve ever met.”
