William Clark Green likes to say he has a few hometowns, but Flint, Texas, is definitely one of them. And the native East Texan is coming home to play for the biggest event in the area.

Green will be the third of five artists to take the stage at the 2016 Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival, presented by Tyler Ford, on Saturday, May 14, in Downtown Tyler.

He joins previously announced acts Bri Bagwell and The Dirty River Boys on the lineup, with the next two bands to be unveiled Thursday and Friday.

William Clark Green has launched himself to the forefront of Texas Country, thanks to putting out two of the best albums the scene has heard in some time. His 2013 album Rose Queen, an homage to Tyler, featured the most-played song of the year on Texas Country radio in "She Likes the Beatles."

He followed up with the equally brilliant Ringling Road in 2015, showcasing his heart-wrenching and soulful songwriting through every song. The Houston Press listed it as one of its 10 best Texas Country albums of 2015 and Farce the Music wrote, "With every record, Green matures a little more, digs a little deeper, and evolves. He rolls along like a well oiled machine, recycling and repurposing bits and pieces of whatever pops up to sting him along the way, and uses them as inspiration ... mastering his craft one step at a time.

Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival and 101.5 KNUE will unveil the event's fourth artist at 7:30 a.m. Thursday and the headliner at 7:30 a.m.

Tickets to this year's festival go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at reddirtbbqfest.com.
