I wish more often there were songs like this which resonate on the inside – a song that is pure and fresh. It should happen more often than not.

The music of Justin Townes Earle has an old-fashioned feel, with a hybrid of blues, folk and rock. It's no wonder, as he is the son of Steve Earle, and named after the late Townes Van Zandt. Sadly, he also adopted some of Townes habits and has a history of drug abuse - which he has worked hard to combat, while diverting his energy into his music.

This tune from his 2010 album Harlem River Blues, is a personal favorite, and gives tribute to his excellent songwriting capabilities. Check 'em out!
