One Texas City’s Residents Tired Of Human Feces In Public
According to a story from KHOU 11 based in Houston, Texas, one of our Lone Star State cities may have a problem with human waste on the downtown city paths.
There have been complaints from residents of Houston, Texas that they are sick and tired of seeing human waste on the downtown city streets and walking paths, specifically at Allen's Landing.

Residents say they are aware of efforts to keep things sanitary, but efforts are 'falling short.' Some people feel the issue may be due to a homeless encampment nearby.
According to the story by report Katiera Winfrey, 'One man said it's a balancing act between understanding the unhoused population has limited access to restroom facilities and the fact that the people who live, work and play in the area often have a mess to get around.'
One resident, Dominic Garcia, told KHOU11 he thinks Houston is doing a good job with cleaning and maintenance, but he doesn't think the city can keep up.
Garcia has been living in Houston for a year and moved to the city for the many things the city has to offer. But encountering what appears to be human feces on the trails, and even some smearing on walls, is frustrating.
He said 'It seems like there's nowhere for people to go. Perhaps they haven't been provided a place to go so, they are just using the streets and the public places," Garcia said.
Are there not enough public restrooms available for those without a home?
One homeless man, Alvin Gaston, told KHOU11 he used to live in the nearby encampment, but due to the number of people and the 'bad attitudes' some have, he spends most of his time under a shade tree where he feels safer.
Alvin Gaston lives under a shade tree most days because it's comfortable and he feels safe.
Regarding the availability of public restrooms, Gaston said he walks the one-mile walk to the public library or uses a bag when he can't make it in time.
It's a balance between caring for people and maintaining hygienic city streets.
