Radney Foster was born in Del Rio, TX, on this day, in 1959. One Texas' most revered singers, songwriters and producers.

Foster began his career as a songwriter in Nashville, before becoming one-half of the Foster & Lloyd duo. The duo released three studio albums, nine singles from those albums made it on to the country charts.

Radney’s first solo album Del Rio, TX 1959, produced four consecutive Top 40 hits. In his career Foster has had thirteen songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including "Just Call Me Lonesome" which peaked at No. 10, and "Nobody Wins" which rose all the way to No. 2.

Foster has written and produced several songs for artists including Tanya Tucker, Sara Evans, Keith Urban, Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen and many more. He also served as an early mentor and friend to GRAMMY winner Kacey Musgraves.
