In April of 2017, Stephen Colbert commissioned Sturgill Simpson to write an ode to one of Colbert's favorite childhood haunts, the Waffle House, all in an effort to have it featured on the restaurant's jukebox.

The result was one of the funniest Waffle House themed songs ever heard, "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Knuckleheads." It was one year ago this week that Colbert successfully petitioned the restaurant chain to add the song to their selection.

Then the following week the duo made the pilgrimage to the same Waffle House Colbert frequented in his youth to cut the ribbon on the jukebox and be the first of what is sure to be many to select "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Knuckleheads."

Of course they documented it all for The Late Show.
